Though it was able to survive relatively unscathed during the Calamity, the recent arrival of Ganondorf's minions has cause the coastal town to fall on hard times. The coastal fishing community of Lurelin Village can be found past Hyrule's southern Faron region in the bottom part of East Necluda, southwest across the mountains from Hateno Village. With a new fashion craze sweeping the town, the residents now find themselves between becoming a tourist sensation, and remaining with their quiet farming roots. It was able to avoid the larger effects of the Calamity, but has undergone a different kind of change recently. The farming community of Hateno Village is located far in the southeast of Hyrule, past the Dueling Peaks and resting at the southern foot of Mount Lanayru. With the sudden departure of the Sheikah Elder, Impa, it has fallen to Paya to now lead the tribe, as well as leading the research of the mysterious ruins from the sky. The quiet community was hit hard by the arrival of circular "ring ruins" falling from the skies above to crash around the village, turning the settlement into an archaeological dig site overnight. The home of the Sheikah Tribe that has served the Royal Family, Kakariko Village stands in a valley in West Necluda just north of the Dueling Peaks. Kakariko Village is a small settlement with a long history in Zelda games, nestled in between mountain peaks south of the Lanaryu Wetlands. Shelter is provided in an emergency bunker under the ruins itself, and a general goods store has even opened up to supply those visiting.
Now it has become a base of operations to find the missing princess in the nearby castle, and where Purah and her team work to understand the mysteries of the upheval and its regional anomalies, the floating sky islands, and the mysterious depths.
